Kuril Islands Map
The Kuril Islands are a group of islands in Russia in the Sea of Okhotsk, covering about 10,500 km² (4,050 sq mi). This map shows the islands on shaded relief, with its relief, rivers and towns.

How to read this map
The highest point is Alaid, 2,285 m (7,497 ft) above sea level.
The map is centred on the Kuril Islands. Towns and cities on the map include Asahikawa, Kushiro, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Obihiro and Kitami.
Greens show lower elevations; tan and brown show higher land, with pale tones toward the highest terrain. Shadows emphasize the slopes, and vertical relief is exaggerated so landforms are easier to read. Dashed lines show country borders, and fine dashed lines show state or province borders.
The relief uses Terrain Tiles (SRTM, GMTED2010 and ETOPO1 elevation data). Rivers, lakes, borders come from Natural Earth, and the figures on this page from Wikidata. These are small-scale educational maps, not navigation charts.
