How to read this map

The five-ocean convention names the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Southern Oceans. These named regions belong to one connected global ocean. The labels locate them; this overview does not draw legal maritime boundaries.

The Southern Ocean surrounds Antarctica. Its northern limit is often drawn at 60° south in educational maps, though scientific and institutional definitions have varied. Seas such as the Mediterranean are smaller named parts of the ocean system.

Blank map without names

The blank version keeps the mapped features and removes the place labels. Download it for a geography worksheet or practice identifying the features.
