How to read this map

The Beaver River is about 689 km (428 mi) long and drains a basin of about 14,500 km² (5,600 sq mi). It rises at Beaver Lake and flows into the Churchill River. Tributaries include Waterhen River, Amisk River, Sand River, Rivière la Plonge, Doré River and Jackfish Creek.

The highlighted blue line is the course of the Beaver River as mapped by Natural Earth. Towns and cities on the map include Edmonton. Labeled countries: Alberta.

Greens show lower elevations; tan and brown show higher land, with pale tones toward the highest terrain. Shadows emphasize the slopes, and vertical relief is exaggerated so landforms are easier to read. Dashed lines show country borders, and fine dashed lines show state or province borders.

The relief uses Terrain Tiles (SRTM, GMTED2010 and ETOPO1 elevation data). Rivers, lakes, borders and the course of the Beaver River come from Natural Earth, and the figures on this page from Wikidata. Natural Earth draws features at a small scale, so the line is a guide to where the Beaver River is, not a surveyed boundary.
