World rivers map
Locate selected major rivers and river systems on this printable world map. Use the labeled version as a reference or download the blank version for practice.

How to read this map
A river map follows drainage rather than political borders. Major rivers can cross several countries, and a single river system includes tributaries, branches and deltas. This small-scale overview selects major rivers from Natural Earth; it is not a complete drainage-network inventory.
River names and the source’s cartographic prominence determine which labels fit at this scale. The table lists the names printed on this map. It does not rank rivers by length, because estimates can vary with the chosen headwater, channel and measurement method.
Blank map without names
The blank version keeps the mapped features and removes the place labels. Download it for a geography worksheet or practice identifying the features.
