Tributaries include Mangapapa Stream, Orakei Stream, Taharua River, Mangaroa Stream, Otupua Stream, Te Mimiohinekaitangi Stream, Te Kohai Stream and Mangatanguru Stream.
The highlighted blue line is the course of the Mōhaka River as mapped by Natural Earth. Towns and cities on the map include Hastings, Napier, Rotorua, Gisborne, Taupō, Whakatāne and Tokoroa.
