How to read this map
The Seine River is about 777 km (483 mi) long and drains a basin of about 78,700 km² (30,400 sq mi). Its average discharge is about 500 m³/s (17,700 cu ft/s). It rises at the source of the Seine River and flows into the English Channel. Tributaries include Yonne, Oise, Loing, École, Andelle, Essonne, Aube and Arce.
The highlighted blue line is the course of the Seine River as mapped by Natural Earth. Towns and cities on the map include Paris, Rouen, Metz, Nancy, Melun, Le Havre, Tours and Orléans. Labeled countries: France.
Greens show lower elevations; tan and brown show higher land, with pale tones toward the highest terrain. Shadows emphasize the slopes, and vertical relief is exaggerated so landforms are easier to read. Dashed lines show country borders.
The relief uses Terrain Tiles (SRTM, GMTED2010 and ETOPO1 elevation data). Rivers, lakes, borders and the course of the Seine River come from Natural Earth, and the figures on this page from Wikidata. Natural Earth draws features at a small scale, so the line is a guide to where the Seine River is, not a surveyed boundary.
