Salton Sea Map
The Salton Sea is a lake across the United States and Mexico, covering about 888 km² (343 sq mi), with a maximum depth of 15 m (49 ft). This map shows the lake outlined in blue on shaded relief, with the rivers, borders and towns around it.

How to read this map
Inflows include Alamo River, New River and Whitewater River. It drains through evaporation. It is shared by the United States and Mexico.
The blue outline marks the Salton Sea as mapped by Natural Earth. Towns and cities on the map include San Diego, San Bernardino, Tijuana, Mexicali, Oceanside, Palm Springs, National City and Yuma.
Greens show lower elevations; tan and brown show higher land, with pale tones toward the highest terrain. Shadows emphasize the slopes, and vertical relief is exaggerated so landforms are easier to read. Dashed lines show country borders, and fine dashed lines show state or province borders.
The relief uses Terrain Tiles (SRTM, GMTED2010 and ETOPO1 elevation data). Rivers, lakes, borders and the outline of the Salton Sea come from Natural Earth, and the figures on this page from Wikidata. Natural Earth draws features at a small scale, so the outline is a guide to where the Salton Sea is, not a surveyed boundary.
