Lake Tanganyika Map
Lake Tanganyika is a lake across Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi and Zambia, covering about 32,900 km² (12,700 sq mi), with a maximum depth of 1,433 m (4,701 ft). This map shows the lake outlined in blue on shaded relief, with the rivers, borders and towns around it.

How to read this map
Its surface lies about 773 m (2,536 ft) above sea level. Inflows include Ruzizi River, Malagarasi River, Kalambo River and Mulobozi. It drains through the Lukuga River. It is shared by Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi and Zambia.
The blue outline marks Lake Tanganyika as mapped by Natural Earth. Towns and cities on the map include Kigali, Mwanza, Bukavu, Likasi, Bujumbura, Mbeya, Nyanza and Kalemie.
Greens show lower elevations; tan and brown show higher land, with pale tones toward the highest terrain. Shadows emphasize the slopes, and vertical relief is exaggerated so landforms are easier to read. Dashed lines show country borders.
The relief uses Terrain Tiles (SRTM, GMTED2010 and ETOPO1 elevation data). Rivers, lakes, borders and the outline of Lake Tanganyika come from Natural Earth, and the figures on this page from Wikidata. Natural Earth draws features at a small scale, so the outline is a guide to where Lake Tanganyika is, not a surveyed boundary.
